Hi my name is theresa and im from manchester uk. Im new to using forums. I have kept anphibians for about 18 months. Me and my daughter love them. We have adult natural and albino african clawed frogs and their babies and lots mor newly hatched tadpoles, chinese fire bellied newts and natural and golden axalotls and lots of other non anphibian pets.  Im always lookinng for more information for the anphibians. Has anyone here got any info on axolotls? pet shops here don't know much about them and im haveing problems with them and can't find any info to help. |

I think axies can get bloat, but they also can suffer from air bubbles that can make them behave like that. If it is an air bubble that's been swallowed it's nothing to be concerned about because it will work it's way out eventually and your axie will be fine again
I agree about the tadpoles thing too- much better than goldfish  |

Thanks for the welcome :D Sorry for late reply iv been sorting all my tanks out the last few days. it takes a while to get round all 10 tanks hehehe.
Kazerella one of my axies has started floating all the time . Can they suffer from bloat like the african clawed frogs can? There is no visible problems. It just started floating listing to one side. The day after it started floating it could sink to the bottom again but its tail and back legs were having a hard time staying on the bottom of the tank. now it is floating on the surface again.
Iv had him about 8 months and have had no other problems. It wasn't kept in the best conditions before i got it. the other axie i have in the tank is fine.
African clawed frogs are entertaining :) mine come take food out of my hand and they know when its meal time they all line up at the side of the tank waiting lol. Me and my daughter loved watching the tadpoles grow into frogs. They are much better than gold fish :D

I've got axies and so have a few other members.
Whats the problem?
P.S I quite like African Clawed Frogs too. Are they entertaining to keep? |

I cannot help you with the axie problem myself unfortunately, but other members on here may be able to though.
If you stick a post on with what the problems are, then hopefully you'll get some advice or info. |
