Hey, I am Hannah. I haven't really ever kept amphibians before and am quite new to my pet axolotls which I have had for about 2 weeks. They are both called Sushi (Leucistic) and Toothless (Dark brown, spotted), named after the dragon in how to train your dragon. I am quite young, 15, and would love to expand a collection of amphibians but my Mum isn't too keen :( So my lovely axolotls will have to do. :D

Welcome to the forum Hannah!

Axies (and whites) are great

Fairly big, between 2 to 4 inches with the females been the bigger frogs. I keep my 3 in a 45cmx45cmx45cm Exo Terra, which they seem to find comfortable, but I wouldn't keep more than this in this size.

They are pretty cute, do they grow big?
The petshop that I got my axies from actually sell them, do their tanks have to be very big?

My dominant male croaks to tell us to shut up quite regularly, washing machine, phones, loud music or just people talking to loudly he has a good old croaking session to shut us up. :D That's a big part of the charm of them though, they interact with us. lol

I agree with the bit about whites, just make sure there's no hoovers or hairdryers getting used, mine used to proper croak loudly if something like those were on.

Find somebody with some White's tree frogs, she'll soon change her mind. ;)

Welcome.
