Posted - 19/03/2009 : 18:15:32 OK. So I'm watching Freecycle like a hawk for either a 2ft or 3ft tank that I can use for an Axy and doing some serious research in between my uni work. I've got enough scaleys and furries so it's time for some slimeys.
Can anyone recommend a suitable make/model of filter that will be suitable? I've been looking around the manufacturer's websites and it's starting to drive me a bit mad. Cheers . |

Posted - 22/03/2009 : 16:54:15 Cheers Morg . I see what's needed now. I used to have a Fluval in my old tropical fish tank and that was all that kept popping into my head whenever I thought about it. Just gotta wait for Freecycle to come up trumps now. |

Posted - 20/03/2009 : 09:49:41 We are using one of those sponge filters, which seems to be doing the job. Nice and gentle, but effective.
These a picture of one on the second link Punkman has given. It's the top picture. |

Posted - 20/03/2009 : 09:07:43 check out this site which has a section on filtration. http://www.axolotl.org/ I have personaly used an internal power filter[fluval] with axolotls, but prefer an external small air pump attatched to a box filter, they do a good job of filtration, but dont cause much current to disturb the axy. http://www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/filters.htm |
