Posted - 08/08/2009 : 17:48:04 I've just been to look at a fibreglass tank on freecycle and had a bit of a shock, because when he said it was used for fish, so I presumed it was probably a bog standard 2ft jobby like any other aquarium..... but- when I got there it's this massive thing that takes up a full shed and is one of those massive fish tanks you see in garden centres with koi in them.
Well needless to say I didn't bring it home (because it wouldn't fit in the car for one and I couldn't carry it even if I wanted to), but he's given me first refusal on it if I want to come back with a van and two strong fellas.
The only use I can think of is to set up an outside enclosure for the sals, so need to know asap whether that's a good idea or not? How well do they cope outside during the summer (we'd no doubt bring them in over the winter). Plus how old should they be before they get exposed to outside-ness? It's got a drainage plug on it, so making holes to allow the rain water to escape isn't necessary. We'll just have to fit a secure lid mi'thinks.
Answer quick and tell me your thoughts- I said I would ring him tomorrow with a yes or no |
