only very young fire sals may be able to climb[although Ive never seen it], they are generaly too heavy an animal to be able to climb up glass.
I have no lids on any of my fire sal tanks, although I do put a slight ledge around the inside to of the tank to stop crickets climbing out, this would stop any sal that managed to defy odds and climb

Do fire sals climb because i do have a lid but it's not very secure

Fires are great - character full and inquisitive, good decision!

you will not see much of either if kept correctly, fire sals are nocturnal, and tigers live underground, but out of the two id say fire salamanders, if tigers are given a deep substrate they will dig tunnels, and may not be seen weeks on end
