We've just ordered some more Axolotl spawn!

Wish us luck. This time we are going to try using rain water instead of bottled water and feeding white worms instead of microworms and daphnia.

Just an update

Had a bit more success than I had last time, although I now only have 4 axies that havfe made it.

I have a albino monster (will eat anything and has always been 3 times bigger than his brothers/sisters).

1 gorgeous wild type- 2nd largest and doing great- front legs fully-developed and bumps on the back.

Another albino, but a lot smaller than the beast. He's eating well, has front legs but is lagging behind the others.

And one that's a bit inbetween. Mostly white, but with a nice grey stripe down his back and black eyes. He's at the same stage of development as the little albino.

Just wondering whether to start naming them. I haven't so far because I'm trying not to form attachments because it's harder when they pass on.

I'm loving watching them develop though.

More pics!

I won't be surprised if they hatch within the next 48 hours. They look quite advanced now. Separated them into meany blacks and angellic whites because I've heard that wild types are more aggressive than albinos and tend to go for ones that are different to themselves.

Here are my little fellas. I'm not naming any of them this time because it's worse when things go wrong then.

Looks like we've got half albinos and half wild types. Not long left either by the looks of things. :)

Cool! Keep us updated on how they get on.
Good luck
