I am wanting to buy a fire bellied newt but I can not find one I would also like a tiger samander witch is better and where could I procure one.

It's down to personal choice really, because they are both different to keep.

Newts are more aquatic, so you need a set up with both a water area and a land area. Keeping the water clean is the main concern with newts.

I prefer terrestrial species so I have salamanders. They just need a good soily substrate like eco-earth, a few hides and a good-sized water bowl.

Both species would eat similar things and are relatively easy to care for.

Not sure where you would get a tiger sal in the US, but I would check the classifieds and look for online suppliers.
