How do you all make your water safe for your Amphibians?
Just curious to know weather you leave it to stand, use water conditioner, or another way of making it safe?

Ive personaly never added anything to my water for amphibians in 15 years or so of keeping them.
If your tap water only contains chlorine, all you need to do is to leave in an open topped container for over 24 hours for the chlorine to evaporate before use.
In the USA chloramine is regularly added to tap water which doesnt evaporate so aqua safe or simular needs to be added.
I dont know if chloramine is added by any of the water companys in the uk? but i know that the water here in Doncaster is ok

I'm presently using a large storage box that I half fill with tapwater, and add aquasafe that I have left over from fish which does similar to reptisafe. I then re-use old spring water bottles and keep about 6 going from tub before I refill tub again. (I have one half and half set up and one mainly aquatic set up for my fire bellied toads and whites, so I both of which have a log type waterfall so humidity stays high but causes a lot of water loss).
Never thought to look at the content of aqua safe, but it appears similar to that of what I would presume is in repti safe, so will carry on and finish this bottle, and then get some repti=safe (didn't even know they did this  ) |

Sounds like a good idea using the repti safe with the two bottle cycle.
Im currently using Tescos Mountain Spring Water, English still natural mineral water.
Is this ok?

I either use repti safe - water conditioner (adds calcium as well) or spring water from Morrisons (16p for a big bottle) I treat tap water with repti-safe then leave it a few days in a bottle before using - I have a cycle of two bottles at the mo - one that I''m using the other that's being treated. (you can use it straight away but I like to leave it as there is no way it can remove chlorine that quick)
You shouldn't leave tap water to settle as this will remove chlorine but not chloramine which is also a killer after a while with amphibians.
You should never used distilled water and It sucks the life out of your amphibians (all the minerals are taken out of the water)most phibs will get most of their minerals from soaking up through the water... this is why repti-safe is good as it adds to the mineral intake.
