Hi, I'm new here and was wondering if someone might be able to help me with a quick question.
How quickly do bullfrogs grow?
I am particularly interested in Goliath frog's (Conraua goliath) and Pyxie Bullfrog's (Pyxicephalus adsperus)?
Also, what age will they be fully grown?

I got her... well I think she is a her. Maybe you guys can confirm that for me. How do you post pictures?
I'm having trouble feeding her. She ate for the first week then wouldn't eat for a week. Now she is eating but she is only taking an earthworm every three days. I keep offering her crickets but she won't take them. Any ideas? |

I've done some reading on them and they are very tempting but I think I have decided on a Pyxie.
Information on Goliaths is so limited and I'm not sure if I can trust the reptile shop. I wouldn't want to give it the wrong type of enviroment or wrong diet.
I'm really looking forward to getting a Pyxie but have to wait until payday to finish getting the set-up.

Really? These weren't even £100. I think I better ask a lot of questions. I did see him but I didn't examine him and it wasn't very light at the time. It was housed in a terrarium with just a small water bowl and some cork bark. The shop had three and have had them in the past too. There could be something fishy going on here.

I'm not sure how quick they grow but from what I've read Goliath Frogs are really active and aquatic, you'd probably need to convert a small room/greenhouse to provide them with ideal habitat. + If they really are Goliath frogs they should be extremely expensive...I've only seen them for sale twice in the past 5 years andat that time they cost a grand!! |

From what I have read the males grow bigger then the females in the pyxie world, I wonder if that is true with Goliaths too.
Anyone know anything about Goliaths? It's really hard getting information on them other then the fact that they are the biggest frog in the world. There are some great pictures out there though... |

My local pet shop has a Goliath and I would really love to get him but I am concerned because I only have space for a two-to-three foot long tank at the moment.
If it takes a few years to reach full size it maybe possible but I don’t want him to reach full size in months and outgrow the tank.
I’m debating between Goliaths and Pyxies at the moment and am researching them both thoroughly but growth rates are not something covered on most care sheets.
I already have an African Clawed Frog and two White’s Tree frogs which is why I can only fit in a three foot long max tank. Next year I will be living in a bigger place so space won’t be a concern.
I just don’t know which to choose. I’d love to get both (and plenty others) but it’s just not feasible. Decisions, decisions...
