Posted - 07/10/2011 : 20:31:01 i everyone i am new to this forum so i hope u can help. i have a 4ft glass tank which is going to be for some dart frogs i have never used heat mats before so i Q is i am going to put my 3ft heat mat in the inside ov the back ov tank but i dont know were to put my thermometer probe so i can get the right temp in the tank i hope this makes sense lol so can someone help me plz cheers |

Posted - 27/10/2011 : 01:14:43 The inside of the tank will not be a very good place to put a heatmat for darts. The humidity will work it's way into the connector block and cause issues. I'd actually stick it to the back on the outside it'd be much safer and easier to keep in place.
In regards the best place to put the probe, when i use a large mat I let it run up for a couple days and check different areas to find out which bit is hotter, I've always found there can be as much as 1 degree difference in temps in some places on a mat, when I've found that point, then that's where I put my probes. |
