Noticed Cliff has a problem around the back of poison glands on his back of his head, like the gland is blocked (see below) it seems to be weeping.

I've cleaned the tank completely and quarantined him in a a separate tank on damp tissue, I was wondering if anyone has seen anything like this before and what can I do? is there any antibacterial cream/spray etc I can use like on snakes? or is it natural, just doesn't look it.

I noticed it when he was sloughing, but it is still there afterwards (only on his right side). He's still eating fine and it doesn't seem to be stressing him in any way, just wondering what to do really?

Hi,

Difficult to be sure from the picture, but abscess/granuloma or growth would be possibilities. I would suggest you get Cliff to a vet for a full exam and possible investigations of this, particularly if it seems to be getting worse, or he becomes ill in himself.

Hope this helps,

Bruce.

Thanks Bruce- I think a vet trip is in order. It does seem to be getting worse. Here's a picture I took this morning

We've been treating with Methylene blue (a drop in a spare cricket keeper with a few inches of water) and it seems to be clearing up.Although I'll be keeping him in quarantine a few more weeks just in case. I will post progress photos later on. Still unsure what it was/is but probably something bacterial if the methylene blue is clearing it.

He's fine now- still going to keep bathing him for a few days, but you can hardly see the wound now.
