Recommended as a first amphibian - All they need is deep eco-earth and a water bowl with springwater changed daily, will eat crickets, worms, locusts, pinkie mice when young then fuzzies when older.
dead easy to care for really! Will be putting a care sheet up soon

How much living space do they need? What do adults need?(I have to stop asking questions before I convince myself I like them) |

What size tank have you got him in? I keep seeing 20 gallon everywhere but that doesn't tell me anything . What are the actual dimensions please?
Just seen the pics and don't want the White's any more. Gotta be one of these called either 'The Great Suprendo' or 'The Great Cornholio'.
They're like English Bulldogs, so ugly they're beautiful |

The tank is 30cm wide 60cm long and 40cm high. This should do him for a long while maybe even for life - but depends on if he is a he or a she. If a she I'll need to move her to a bigger tank eventually.
Here's the link to the tank setup:

Go for It Paul, I'm after another already... that's how good they are... but I'm after an ornate now, I'm probably going to get a stack of them eventually... they don't take up much room at all then.

Cheers Lewy. Jo (my wife) is starting to get on side with the whole reptile/amphibian thing now, so it should be full steam ahead. She's getting the Geckos for Valentine's Day so that should free up some space for the tank. Happy days . |

Only had The Mighty Alberto about a week and already he's starting to lose his greens, I was amazed at just how quick this happened, He turned into a striped brown striped monster overnight.
I tried to get a few photos to catch the colour as close as I could so a few with flash and a few without, heres before (just last week):
and now:
and here's the setup, now it's grown in a bit:

I think only cranwells do- that's why ornates are more expensive I think, because they keep more of their colours.
The mighty alberto should end up a browny, beigey, goldy colour eventually. |

Will definately have a read of that. All plans for expansion of our collection are on hold now until after graduation and I'm in gainful employment .
All these nasty companies want me to pay bills. How inconsiderate |
