We have a large number of healthy tadpoles which are just starting to sprout arms. It's really exciting but also a bit worrying. I have read quite a bit about caring for froglets but would like some more advice. Mainly, can I let the froglets go as soon as they leave the water? We don't live near a pet shop and I can't get hold of blood worms or small crickets to feed them. I can get lots of normal worms which thrive in our compost heap. I could probably buy maggots from the fishing tackle shop. We live in the baby frogs' natural habitat so I assume I could let them go in the garden? Or I could take them back to their stream about a mile away. I think we have about 100! They are active and thriving at the moment and I want to give them the best chance of survival. Any help would be most appreciated.

I would take them back to where you found them, probably the best. The adults wouldn't have spawned there if the conditions weren't right.

You can feed them chopped up worms, but not sure if compost worms are the best for them. Just normal soil ones are fine.
